Poppit Sands is a broad sandy beach where the Afon Teifi estuary meets Cardigan Bay. There’s lots of car parking in the dunes behind the beach so it gets very crowded here at times. It can be sailed in NW and N to SE winds. Currents can run quite high at mid tide and the deep water channel further out should be avoided by beginners and in lighter winds.
Getting there: From the S of the River Tiefi in Cardigan take the B4546. The car park and beach are signposted
